0:25.8	My name is Katie, and it is my joy to walk with you through Hebrews
0:29.2	in our year-long study of the New Testament.
0:32.0	Today we are studying Hebrews 8. As always you can
0:35.9	follow along with the behold studies in the Daily Grace Coast shop or with a
0:39.6	reading plan linked in the show notes.
0:46.1	Okay, friends, today we will continue learning about how a whole of scripture points to Jesus.
0:48.8	Yesterday we saw how Melchizadak in the Old Testament in Genesis 14, was a righteous king and
0:56.2	priest whose life pointed to Jesus. No other priest in the Old Testament was
1:01.0	both a priest and king.
1:03.0	As Melchizadek was superior even over Israel's Levitic
1:07.0	priesthood, Jesus is superior to the Levitical priesthood of old.
1:12.0	He is our great high priest and King of Kings. Today, we will continue to see how Jesus'
1:18.7	priesthood is superior to the former priesthood. Yes, Jesus is better. I love that theme all throughout
1:25.2	Hebrews. As we have done all throughout Hebrews today we will also look back on the
1:30.0	Old Testament to better behold Jesus in the new. In fact, about half of this chapter is actually
1:35.6	a direct quote from the Prophet Jeremiah. Some of you may find that all of these Old Testament
1:41.2	references in Hebrews are really cool.
