who Jesus is changes everything. Hello friends, welcome back to a year in the Bible Daily Grace.

My name is Katie, and it is my joy to walk with you through Hebrews in our year-long

study of the New Testament.

Today we are studying Hebrew Six.

Hebrew 6 is divided into two different sections,

and we start off with a warning here in section 1.

Hebrew 6-1 is actually a continuation of the end of Hebrew 5. The author writes,

therefore let us leave the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity. Yesterday we discussed the meanings of spiritual milk and

spiritual solid food. Milk is something given to infants just the same them and fill them,

but solid food is to give in to those who are mature and have grown.

The author is encouraging his audience to move forward from simple teachings.

When we come to know Jesus, he calls us to come as we are, but he doesn't intend on leaving us there.

When we come to Jesus with our spiritual immaturity, growth is essential. Walking the Christian life shouldn't simply be about retaining the same things we have already learned,

but rather viewing those things as foundational truth and then building upon them.
