September 1985. On September 6, 1985, Midwest Express Airlines Flight 105 took off from General

Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

There were 27 passengers and four crew members on board.

His destination was Hartfield's Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Tragically, they had problems on takeoff.

They crashed into a field a few hundred feet from the runway.

All 31 people on board were killed.

At 7.17 a.m. on September 19, 1985, Mexico City was struck by an 8.0 magnitude earthquake.

It caused $5 billion in damage.

It left 5,000 to 45,000 people dead.

An additional 30,000 people were injured. On September 24th,

1985, 9-year-old Janie Ensminger died from leukemia in Durham, North Carolina. She was

conceived and born at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She was

diagnosed with leukemia when she was six years old.
