0:26.8	case page. For this episode, we're going back to early 1979. On January 12th, 1979, one of the
0:34.5	serial killers known as the Hillside Stranglers, Kenneth Bianchi, was arrested in Bellingham, Washington.
0:40.3	Between October, 1977 and February, 1978, Bianchi and his cousin, Angelo Bono, raped and murdered at least 10 young women and girls in the Los Angeles, California area.
0:51.3	Bianchi murdered two other women in early 1979 in Bellingham, which led to his
0:56.1	arrest. Bianchi was ultimately sentenced to life in prison with a chance of parole. Angela Bono was
1:02.6	sentenced to life without the chance of parole. Bono died in prison in 2002. Bianchi is currently
1:08.9	serving a sentence at the Washington State Penitentiary, Walla Wall of Washington.
1:14.0	He's applied for parole several times, but he's been denied each time. He can apply for parole again in
1:19.8	2025, while he'll be 74 years old. On January 16th, 1979, Life on Earth, A Natural History
1:27.2	by David Naborough debuted on the BBC.
1:30.7	The 13-part nature documentary series was made from hundreds of hours of footage and errated by Attenborough.
1:37.2	The series was considered revolutionary and was incredibly popular.
1:41.1	It's estimated that over 500 million people viewed the series. Attenborough went on to present
1:46.1	several other highly acclaimed natural history documentary series, such as the Planet Earth franchise
1:51.3	and the Blue Planet. On Monday, January 29th, 1979, students were weighing outside the gates of
1:57.8	Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California.
