Hey we're going to start with this message from Mandy and she's talking about Detective Watts here and his ability to get, quote, reluctant witnesses to talk.

Mandy writes, it just seems to stick out to me.

Maybe I'm still stuck in the corruption of Ed Hates case, but is anyone else thinking internal affairs on this one?

They have a detective who is known for magically getting people to talk that is about to take over this case.

I absolutely think that Detective Watts needs to be looked at.

Now he's not working for the police department anymore, but I noticed some red flags with Watts before I even got into his notes or trial testimony just based on some articles that I read.

It seems that he's the guy that just always closes his cases. He has a very high close rate on cold cases.

So the national average for closing murder cases is somewhere around 62%. And that's with active cases.

So Watts is working on cold cases, meaning that the police department has already used all their resources in order to catch the killers and they were unable to do so.
