Chickens in the garden, such a lovely concept.

And I think a lot of times, especially new homesteaders,

have a sort of idyllic vision of their flock of chickens

scratching amongst the rows of tomatoes and green beans

and just seems romantic and beautiful

until you actually try it.

And then it becomes very apparent that chickens

act more like a roaming rogue gang of thugs in a garden.

They can be very destructive and it can be quite devastating

if they get into a mature garden.

Now, all of that being said, chickens and gardening

actually have a beautiful symbiotic relationship

and you really almost can't have one with you out the other.

Well, I mean, you can, but should you?

Probably not.
