Today, we are studying acts nine.

This chapter is huge, and we will remember it

as we read big chunks of the New Testament moving forward.

Why?

Because this chapter marked the conversion of Saul on Damascus Road.

So far, we have seen Saul ravaged the early church.

He sanctioned the murder of Stephen and went door to door

trying to throw Christians into prison. He persecuted the early church. He was an

enemy of Christ. In acts 26-5, Paul tells us that he lived by the strictest

sect of the Jewish religion as a Pharisee like those we read about in the

Gospels. Likely someone who would have joined the chorus of crucify him as Pilate asks the Jews what to do with Jesus.

But in this chapter, Christ takes an enemy and turns him into an apostle.
