My name is Katie and I am journeying with you through the Book of Acts in a greater year-long

journey through the New Testament. Today we are studying

Acts 8. At the very end of Act 7 there is a subtle reference to someone we will

spend a great deal of time with this year.

Someone who faithfully wrote much of the New Testament,

someone who is crucial to the establishment of many early churches.

A man by the name of Saul who we also know as Paul. He was a

persecutor of the early church. In Act 7 we learned that he was present during the

stoning of Stephen and here in Acts 8 we see that he was present during the stoning of Stephen. And here in

Acts 8 we see that he approved of it and that he was ravaging the church,

taking down the doors of Christians and dragging them into prison.

For fear of Saul and persecution from other Jews like him,
