Together we are reading through the New Testament one chapter a day and

as always we are tracking alongside Daily Grace Coast behold studies or you can follow

Acts of the Apostles, and we are learning that the early church or the continuation of Christ's

ministry through the work of his disciples, also called

Apostles in Acts. Today we are studying Acts Six together. Yesterday when we left off the Apostles again appeared on trial before

the religious leaders. They were freed but not without receiving lashes and

another warning not to preach the name of Jesus.

But despite the lashes they left the persecution feeling excited.

The Gospel of Jesus was spreading so much they were considered a threat to the Jews.

As we begin today, we see the early church go through a bit of problem solving.

Though the church was unified, generous, and passionate about living for Jesus, they were still sinners who made up an

imperfect church. I don't know about you but this is pretty encouraging for me.

Sometimes I can think that the early church in acts had it all together. They were perfect and so and about Jesus in a way that we could stand to emulate, but they were still

sinners who had to learn about how to operate and function as one church body.

And so we are introduced to a challenge within the community of the early church.
