0:00.0	Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.
0:11.0	This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know
0:14.9	him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that
0:19.1	who Jesus is changes everything.
0:22.0	Hey hey welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.
0:27.0	My name is Katie and I'm so glad to be back studying the New Testament with you today.
0:32.0	We are taking the New Testament one chapter a day for
0:34.7	five days a week, following the behold studies from the Daily Grace Co. or you can use a
0:39.9	free reading plan in the show-dones. Currently we are studying the establishment and
0:45.0	growth of the early church in the Book of Acts. It's been such a fun journey so far and
0:50.6	I can't wait to continue with you in acts 5 today. So far we have seen the
0:56.1	church grow at a rapid rate thanks to the boldness of the early church filled by
1:00.6	the spirit. I don't want us to forget that the growth of the early church
1:04.7	means thousands of people are repenting of their sins and trusting in Jesus as their
1:09.2	Lord and Savior. Christ's kingdom is growing. What Jesus started in his life was
1:16.2	continuing to build and strengthen. Jesus is still working. In yesterday's
1:22.3	chapter Luke celebrates the unity and generosity of the church and introduces
1:27.2	us to Barnumas, a man from Cyprus who sold a field he owned and brought money before the disciples and laid it at the
1:34.9	apostle's feet. He is called the son of encouragement and we will read more
1:39.6	about him as we study acts. This account of Barnabas is greatly contrasted with the
1:45.0	beginning of acts five when Anannius and Sophia disturbed the unity of the
1:49.8	early church's generosity by lying about what they were giving.
