I'm Lauren Atkinson on the Join the Journey staff team, and today we are in Psalm 139.

But before we get started, I wanted to let you know about an exciting

event we have coming up for college students and young adults at Watermark. On Sunday, November 17th at

7.30 p.m. We are going to be hosting an event for college and young adult women at Watermark

Coffee. We're going to have worship, biblical teaching from some of our friends,

and it will be a great opportunity to connect with other women in the Dallas area. We'll link the

info for that Live Original event in our description. But today we're in Psalm 139, and if you

have been a Christian for a while or have read many of the Psalms, then you're probably

familiar with Psalm 139, or at least have read it before. This Psalm is particularly known for the

middle passage, where it talks about how we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the God who

knit us together in our mother's womb and has created us intentionally and purposefully.

Often this verse is found on coffee mugs or screensavers and might be the central focus of a

women's ministry event. And all those verses are true. God has created us intentionally and with

purpose, fearfully and wonderfully, as David the psalmist says. But that's not all the psalm says. Before we study what

the psalm says about us, though we want to know what the psalm says about who God is. And that's the

overarching theme of this Psalm. A commentary that I read broke down this Psalm into three key points.

First, God knows everything. Second, God is everywhere.

And third, God can do anything. Starting in verse one, David shows that God knows all. He says,
