Hey hey welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

My name is Katie, and it's my joy to walk with you through 2 Corinthians

in our year-long study of the New Testament.

Today we are studying 2 Corinthians 7.

Let's start today by recapping where we left off in chapter six.

Paul has important instructions for the Corinthians, instructions he delivers as a leader who desperately loves them, as a spiritual father to the Corinthians

desiring their good. He tells them do not be yoked to unbelievers or in other words to stay away

from false teachers and pagan practices.

But before we misunderstand Paul isn't telling the Corinthians to stay away in a physical

sense but in a spiritual sense. He does not want the believers in Christ to yoke or fasten themselves to any belief contrary

to the gospel.

In the Corinthian culture, idle worship ran rampant.

And so Paul didn't want the Corinthian Church to intermingle false worship with worship of the true living God, the living God who promises to dwell with his people as they pursue holiness.

This is the promise Paul references that the his people as they pursue holiness.
