Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.

This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know

him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that

who Jesus is changes everything. Hello friends welcome back to a year in the Bible of Daily Grace.

My name is Katie and it's my joy to walk with you through 2 Corinthians in our year-long

study of the New Testament. Today we are studying 2 Corinthians 6.

or with the reading plan linked in the show notes. Yesterday in chapter 5, Paul ended his chapter with the conclusion that we are ambassadors

for Christ, commission to share the reconciliation or friendship with God that we have been given.

Paul begins here today, reminding the Corinthians of their friendship with God

through Christ's work on the cross, encouraging them to not receive the grace of God in vain.

He references Isaiah 49-8, where God promised a day of salvation where he would help his people. Paul reminds the Corinthians that this is indeed the day of salvation.

What Israel longed for is now here, Christ has come.

God's plan to redeem the world is now revealed and God delivered on his promises.

We know Jesus.

May we not take this grace for granted.

Now is the acceptable time God promised through Isaiah. Now is the time of

salvation. Christ has come. From the first few verses, Paul moves on to deliver instructions

that will likely be hard for the Corinthians.

Like a dad who cares desperately for the well-being of his children,

Paul will instruct the church to separate themselves from false teachers and pagan practices within their community.
