0:00.0	Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.
0:11.0	This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know
0:14.9	him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that
0:19.1	who Jesus is changes everything. Hey hey welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.
0:26.0	My name is Katie and together we are walking through the New Testament in a year.
0:30.0	Currently we are studying 1st Corinthians and today we will be in 1st
0:33.7	Corinthians 7. As always you can follow along with the behold studies in the
0:37.9	Daily Grace Coast shop or with a reading plan linked in the show notes.
0:41.2	In today's chapter Paul transitions from addressing concerns
0:45.0	reported to him from Chloe's household about the Corinthians behavior to
0:49.7	addressing matters within a letter written to him by the Corinthians. As Paul answers his letter, he will
0:55.4	cover a variety of topics, spiritual gifts, worship, head coverings, idolatry, and communion.
1:01.8	But today Paul will focus in on marriage.
1:05.0	So far we have seen that the Corinthians have allowed sexual immorality to exist within the church
1:10.0	unchecked, and today we see another extreme position that even married couples should abstain from sex evidently included in the Corinthians letter to Paul.
1:20.0	Isn't it just like humans to try to trend towards one extreme or the other?
1:25.0	In Paul's response, we should see him address both extremes.
1:29.0	Paul's wisdom to the Corinthians is this,
1:32.0	Be faithful and pursue God first in whatever he's called
1:35.0	you to. Satisfaction will ultimately be found in him not in fleeting pleasures of
1:40.0	sex or status. That being said Paul upholds God's good boundaries in marriage.
1:45.1	That it is a blessing and a privilege to be in the context of marriage. In fact,
