Why do our words matter? Why do our words matter? Today, Emma Dotter talks through Psalm 12, where David is crying out to God for help because he sees how people are hurting one another with their words. As Proverbs 18:21 says, the tongue has the power of life and death, which means our words can either tear people down or build them up. Maybe you personally have been hurt by the words of others, whether careless or intentional. We can find hope knowing that God sent His Son, the Word made flesh to dwell among us and bring life abundant to those who trust in Him as Savior and Lord. Take some time to reflect on how Psalm 12 encourages us to be careful with our words.

| 0:55.4 | Once we were in the actual school building, of course, we had to walk in a straight line, |

| 1:24.7 | And I remember as a fifth grader feeling conflicted by this moral |
| 1:27.8 | dilemma I was being presented. Who would I save? Only one of them? I mean, I guess I'd save my friend Allie. |
| 1:35.7 | And so fifth grade Emma told Brett that I wouldn't save him. That's what I said. And this deeply hurt |
| 1:42.0 | his feelings. So much so that he told our teacher I had said I wanted him to die, which is just absolutely terrible. |
