Okay, Pastor, you left me like on a cliffhanger last episode. So we started talking about the impact of Hellenism from Alexander the Great.

We talked about how the Jewish people, you know, the education system they had. I want to hear more about the impact of Hellenism on the education system.

How did Alexander the Great kind of sway the Jewish people away from that?

Yeah, that's a great question.

Because last week we spent a lot of time on the Jewish educational system.

Let's talk about how Alexander the Great came in and impacted or swayed or manipulated the Jewish culture away from the one book,

the Bible they studied, which at the time wasn't necessarily the Bible, as we know it today.

It was scrolls and it was Torah, papyri that they would write on.

So it was different back then.

We'll talk about that.

So Alexander the Great, remember, it's going to conquer not through brute force, bow down or die.

He's actually going to conquer through persuasion.

Did it with education.

Here's what he did.

He comes into this culture that was people of the book, literally.

They had one book, God's Word.

It was not collated as a book at that time but it will be

today um not to confuse everybody but he comes in and he basically says why are you going to read

just god's word there's so many other books out there there are so many other ideologies out

...
