Okay, Pastor, so today we're talking about understanding the world that Jesus came into. Yeah. Why is that important? Why is that? That's a good question. You're asking you.
0:37.8	You tell us. That is a good question. Well, it would be like somebody telling a story today or recording a story today for someone 2,000 years ago.
0:47.1	You would want to know the political landscape of the country. You would want to know about the racial unrest that we've been navigating through. You want to know about the situation in your town or context.
0:56.7	You want to know about the world they're living in.
0:59.0	Because if you understand it better, then you understand the person better.
1:02.8	Remember, our journey in this podcast is not just to have biblical facts, to pass a Bible trivia test.
1:09.0	It's to have intimacy with a person. Right. Jesus. And's to have intimacy with a person.
1:11.6	Right.
1:12.2	Jesus.
1:12.9	And when we have intimacy with a person, we know Jesus better, we love him more.
1:16.2	When we love him more, we obey him better.
1:18.4	And when we obey him better, then he reveals himself to us more.
1:22.8	And I think the more, I mean, you just said this, but the more you understand him, his culture and his context, the greater appreciation, too, you have for him and for reading the word and for what he speaks to your heart. So I just think understanding anybody to a greater level, yeah, you know, gives you a greater appreciation, right? Just like if you
1:45.8	understand the Old Testament, the more you understand the Old Testament, the greater appreciation
1:49.9	you have for the new, right? And so with Jesus, it's like the more we can understand him in the
1:54.8	world in which he was born into at that time, the greater appreciation we're going to have for
