Before we begin, I just want to warn you that today's topic may be a little too strong for some listeners. It describes a shooting that killed two people.

And now, while this story is not technically about a mass shooting, it has every characteristic of one.

Just so you know, I started working on the story before the Marjorie Stolman-Douglas High School

shooting, and I hesitated releasing this episode.

At first, I just wanted to pull it.

Then I thought, maybe I'll delay the release.

But you know what?

There's never an appropriate time to talk about this. If I release it in a few

months, there's just going to be another shooting. And then another one. Unfortunately, this is our new reality. In this episode, we're going to talk about what you and I could do as individuals to spot the next mass murderer.

We're going to dive deep into the psychology of a killer

and talk about the characteristics some of them have in common.

One thing we're not going to talk about is politics.

There are plenty of other outlets having this debate.
