Yesterday, we studied the good reign of Judah's King Josiah.

Today, we journey to the book of Zephaniah.

Zephaniah prophesied during the reign of King Josiah.

And as we study his message from the Lord, we will learn that God's judgment is imminent.

He also graciously provides hope for future restoration.

The book of Zephaniah only has three chapters, so we will cover them all today.

As we've done with shorter books in the past, we'll chat through some context and look

at the overarching themes of the book and how they apply both to Judah and to us today.

The author of the book is Zephaniah.

He tells us about his family's lineage in the opening verse, and we learn that he is

a descendant of one of King Hezekiah's sons, thus making him a member of the royal family.
