Yesterday, we studied the small book of Nehum, which prophesied the coming destruction

of Assyria.

And today, we journey back to second kings and second chronicles to study the life of

King Josiah.

The southern kingdom of Judah is in the twilight years leading to their destruction and exile.

But before that time comes, we read about one more good king of Judah.

As we read about Josiah's life and reign today, we will be reminded of the importance of

God's word and the joy of walking in obedience to his statutes and commands.

The second kings and second chronicles accounts are fairly similar.

But like many of the kings we've studied before him, second chronicles will provide

us with a few more details about Josiah's reign and specifically his death.
