My name is Tiffany, and I want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through the Bible chronologically.

Together, we will explore God's sovereign plan as the events of Scripture unfold and point to Jesus.

Tiffany here yesterday was such a joyful day as we studied the Davidic covenant and thanked the Lord that Jesus is our eternal King.

Like the Abrahamic and Mosaic covenants, we will continue to refer back to the Davidic covenant all year as God's plan of redemption unfolds.

Before we continue with the narrative of David's reign, we head back to the Psalms today.

As we've mentioned several times, there are many Psalms that we can't date exactly, and they could fall in various seasons of David's reign.

Our five Psalms today are similar. These Psalms have been placed in this part of our journey because the themes within them speak to David's worship and dependence on the Lord.

They express David's great love for the Lord and celebrate the Lord's glory.

As we take a look at each Psalm, notice God's unchanging nature.

Whether it is a Psalm of lament or praise, God remains the same.

It is mankind who needs a heart marked by devotion and not wickedness.

As we begin, let's remember to worship our unchanging God through these words that though penned so long ago, still resonate today.

First, we read Psalm 25. Though this Psalm is technically a lament over aiquity, it's a beautiful picture of the gospel and displays many of God's attributes.

David desires that the Lord clearly show him the path to truth and salvation.

Because of God's faithful, good, sovereign, just, and loving character, he leads those who call on his name to the truth.

Believers today know this truth is Jesus.

When we trust in Christ as our Savior, our immense iniquity as David calls it is forgiven.

Our salvation guards us from the enemy and rescues us from sin.

2:36.0

And just as David prays for the redemption of Israel in verse 22, we are redeemed from our distress through our salvation.
