Tiffany here and today we take a look at four more Psalms that give us a glimpse of David's

heart during his wilderness years.

The two major themes we'll see are his prayers for vindication and his hope in the satisfaction

only the Lord provides.

So let's take a look at Psalms 17, 35, 54, and 63.

Psalms 17 and 35 are known as imprecatory Psalms.

These types of Psalms ask God for the defeat of the authors or the nation's enemies as

well as defeat of the wicked in general.

They are usually bold prayers and often descriptive in their petition and desire for punishment.

But what we learn from imprecatory Psalms is the author's reliance on the Lord to bring

vengeance.

David wrote Psalms 17 and 35 and given what we know from his time in the wilderness and

the many enemies that pursued him, we aren't surprised by these bold prayers for vengeance.

In each one, we first see David cry out and plead his case before the Lord.

He prays for protection and defeat over his enemies.
