the Bible chronologically.

Together, we will explore God's sovereign plan as the events of Scripture unfold and point

Hey, you're in the Bible readers, Tiffany here, and I'm so excited to be on this journey

through the Bible with you.

Today, we come to Numbers, chapters 19 through 21.

There are quite a few events in these chapters, so buckle up as we talk through the significance

of what is taking place and how it all points to the gospel.

Chapter 19 begins with a purification ritual.

Even though we've read about other types of rituals, sacrifices, and offerings, this

is the first time this particular one is mentioned.

Leviticus specifically laid out the many ways that a person could be unclean before the

Lord.

This purification ritual was how people were cleansed after being in the presence of death.

Before we understand the ritual, it's important to understand why it was even necessary.

With over 2 million people in camp and the promise that the first generation would die in

the desert, death was a fairly common occurrence.

But death in and of itself isn't a front to God.

Death was not a part of God's perfect creation.
