We are currently making our way through the book of Nehemiah.

The wall has been rebuilt despite opposition, and God has made the nation successful under

the leadership of Nehemiah.

Today, we will study chapters seven through ten and see the nation's response to the reading

Several times, we will read about the joy the people felt, and we will see throughout

these chapters that tremendous joy occurs when we commit our hearts to worshiping the

We read in chapter seven that once the wall had been rebuilt and the doors installed,

Nehemiah appointed his brother, Hanani, to be in charge of Jerusalem and Hananah, a

man who feared God as commander of the fortress, and a guard was instituted around the wall.

Nehemiah continued to lead the people through his prayerful relationship with the Lord.

When he saw that the city was largely uninhabited, the Lord led him to take a census and register
