0:27.3	Tiffany here, and today on the podcast, we complete Luke chapter 17 and begin chapter 18.
0:34.8	As we inch ever closer to Christ's death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus continues
0:40.2	to teach the crowds, call out the Pharisees, and prepare His disciples.
0:45.8	We will see this today through the healing of lepers, the call to be watchful and prepared,
0:51.8	and the reminder to rest in God's mercy alone, not self-righteousness.
0:57.9	In Luke 17 verses 11 through 19, we read the short account of the 10 lepers that Jesus
1:04.9	healed.
1:05.9	But there are several things we don't want to miss in these verses.
1:09.4	Luke tells us that Jesus and the disciples traveled between Samaria and Galilee when they
1:15.4	met a group of 10 lepers.
1:18.3	We want to note that these men lived at a distance from towns and villages because of
1:23.9	the contagious nature of their disease.
1:26.8	So they found community together as outcasts, no matter if they were a Jew or a Samaritan.
1:34.9	When they ask Jesus to show them mercy, he tells them to go and show themselves to the priests.
1:41.9	This was likely confusing to them because a leper could only show themselves to a priest
