Tiffany here, and today on the podcast, we complete Luke chapter 17 and begin chapter 18.

As we inch ever closer to Christ's death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus continues

to teach the crowds, call out the Pharisees, and prepare His disciples.

We will see this today through the healing of lepers, the call to be watchful and prepared,

and the reminder to rest in God's mercy alone, not self-righteousness.

In Luke 17 verses 11 through 19, we read the short account of the 10 lepers that Jesus

healed.

But there are several things we don't want to miss in these verses.

Luke tells us that Jesus and the disciples traveled between Samaria and Galilee when they

met a group of 10 lepers.

We want to note that these men lived at a distance from towns and villages because of

the contagious nature of their disease.

So they found community together as outcasts, no matter if they were a Jew or a Samaritan.

When they ask Jesus to show them mercy, he tells them to go and show themselves to the priests.

This was likely confusing to them because a leper could only show themselves to a priest
