Tiffany here, and today we get to celebrate the completion of yet another book.

Jeremiah has been filled with hard truths and judgments, but it has been filled with

the hope of the new covenant and God's promise to return a remnant to Jerusalem.

Over the past two days, we've studied God's judgment on the nations.

Today, our focus will be on God's judgment of Babylon, which spans chapters 50 and 51.

We briefly introduced it yesterday and we will look at the bulk of that judgment today.

As we begin, let's take a moment to look back at the end of chapter 50.

In verse 44, the Lord says through Jeremiah, for who is like me?

Who will issue me as summons?

Who is the shepherd who can stand against me?

Here in the very middle of God's judgment against Babylon, the Lord reminds Babylon and

the people of Judah that no one can stand against him.

No one can thwart his plan.

Sword, famine, and desolation await Babylon, and God's power, might, and holiness will
