Hey friends, welcome back to the podcast. Tiffany here, and today we cover Jeremiah chapter 18 through 22.

We will continue to see Jeremiah's struggle with the Lord and the message that he's called to share.

We will also experience his grief and suffering.

But through it all, God remains faithful to his promises of blessing and curse.

Jeremiah chapter 18 and 19 are some of the most familiar in the book. In them, we read about

Jeremiah's visit to a potter's house and the metaphor of Jeremiah smashing a clay pot. God sent

Jeremiah to the potter's house in order to teach him a practical lesson about God's sovereignty and his right to punish and bless as he ordains.

Like the potter, God can reshape Judah, but they choose to harden their hearts and cling to their own plans.

And as he has promised several times already in Jeremiah, God will abandon the people

when destruction comes because of their continual sin, rebellion, and disobedience.

The people's response to Jeremiah when he shares this message is to plot against him

and turn their own backs on him. He struggles as he watches his people

continually believe the message of the false prophets. He even prays a prayer that is reminiscent

of the imprecatory psalms we've read. These Psalms, which pray for God's vengeance on enemies,

Jeremiah does the same in his prayer, and he trusts the promise God made to him when he called him to be a

prophet. God will save and rescue him if he is obedient to the call. God then has Jeremiah, take one of the clay jars from

the Potter's house, and he and some of the false prophets and leading elders go to what will be known
