Welcome back to our journey from Eden to Eternity.

Tiffany here and today we continue our time in Isaiah.

For several days now, we've been in a section of prophecies and chapters that were meant

to bring encouragement to the future exiles of Babylon.

God's declaration of His glory and salvation were to be a balm for their hearts while in

a foreign land.

And His plan to punish their captors and send a remnant home to Jerusalem, provided hope.

This continues in chapters 47-49 today.

In chapter 47, Isaiah shares the details and reasons for the coming fall of Babylon.

It's important for us to remember that at the time Isaiah is prophesying, Babylon isn't

even a world power yet.

This prophecy was over a century before these events would take place, once again declaring

the sovereignty of God over history.

Isaiah prophesies that Babylon's idols will not save them when God's judgment comes.
