0:35.2	For several days now, we've been in a section of prophecies and chapters that were meant
0:40.6	to bring encouragement to the future exiles of Babylon.
0:45.2	God's declaration of His glory and salvation were to be a balm for their hearts while in
0:51.1	a foreign land.
0:52.9	And His plan to punish their captors and send a remnant home to Jerusalem, provided hope.
1:00.6	This continues in chapters 47-49 today.
1:06.2	In chapter 47, Isaiah shares the details and reasons for the coming fall of Babylon.
1:13.5	It's important for us to remember that at the time Isaiah is prophesying, Babylon isn't
1:19.4	even a world power yet.
1:22.1	This prophecy was over a century before these events would take place, once again declaring
1:28.6	the sovereignty of God over history.
1:32.4	Isaiah prophesies that Babylon's idols will not save them when God's judgment comes.
1:39.2	And while this message from Isaiah would have a near fulfillment when Babylon physically
