My name is Tiffany, and I want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through

the Bible chronologically.

Together, we will explore God's sovereign plan as the events of Scripture unfold and point

to Jesus.

We are currently making our way through the book of Hosea on our journey from Eden to

Eternity.

Today, we wrap up this minor prophet as we take a look at chapters 7 through 14.

Just a briefly recap, Hosea prophesied in the final years of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

His prophecies speak of the impending destruction and exile, which he would also see fulfilled

in his own lifetime.

God called Hosea to be a living example of Israel's unfaithfulness when he married a woman

of promiscuity.

God equated Israel's sin and unfaithfulness to that of an adulterous woman.

As we walk through the remaining chapters today, we will see God's discipline on his

people, the call for Israel to return to the Lord, and the hope of future restoration.

We didn't quite make it to chapter 7 yesterday, so we will begin there today.

Let's start by reminding ourselves what a simile is.

Simile is a figure of speech that compares two things using the words like or as.

Hosea uses this tool many times in his prophecies, and he even lived it out in his marriage
