It's hard to take time out in your day, but since you're here, know that when you take this time

for yourself, your whole nervous system changes and your interactions with your kids are going to be

so much easier. It doesn't mean they're going to be easy. It just means they're going to be easier

and a self-regulated grown-up is much more likely to have self-regulated kids and when your kids

are not self-regulated, you will have the presence to be able to move through it. So before I talk

a little bit about this, I'm just going to do a mindfulness meditation, a very beginner meditation

called arriving where we are. There are no rules for where you do this. This is a meditation

for a moment. Let's just do a little practice of arriving where we are. So find a posture

which allows you to be relaxed and alert just for this period. And if you have little kids running

around you as long as they're safe, it's okay. You don't need to have the perfect spot.

You just need to be with yourself. You can sit on a chair, you can sit on the floor,

you can sit on a cushion, you can lie down, you could be walking whatever way your body is

comfortable and it ease on the earth works. There are no rigid rules for how to meditate.
