Welcome to Raising Good Humans. I'm Dr. Lisa Pressman and today's episode I'm having a conversation

with Shazi Deshram. I met Shazi working on a project I was doing with her company Healthy Baby

and I really became interested in her story because she has a son now 12 who was diagnosed with

autism when he was 26 months old and she has a daughter who is now 5 years old and Shazi founded

Happy Baby and now Healthy Baby and she's very committed to creating products for babies that are

made as clean and friendly to the environment and to children themselves to babies bodies

and their developing brains. One of the things Shazi and I talk a lot about is what it's

like to raise a typically developing child in the context of having a special needs child. So

today's episode we're actually focusing on her child who is developing very typically

and she's just a five-year-old who is struggling like any other five-year-old might be struggling

but it's totally different when you see it through the lens of also caring for

a special needs child and making sure that everybody gets what they need including mom.

Shazi is also just a phenomenal business woman and philanthropist. She also has a new podcast out,
