Summary

Listen: God is bigger. He is bigger than any religious building. He is bigger than man’s interpretation of him. He is bigger than the person on the stage telling you to think of god in a certain — often fear based — way. I don’t have a problem with the church — I have a problem the leaders of church’s speaking to us in such a way that we don’t get to know God for ourselves.

Our own, growing, evolving relationship with God — a relationship of *our own* understanding — must begin to outweigh the dogma and f*ed up doctrine that many churches have tried to fill our heads with.

The church is not God. God is not a man on a stage. God is… God.

1:45.8	been chunks of time where I found like a good church and I went very consistently and it was a
1:50.3	wonderful part of my life but it's not the crux of the actual relationship with God. You know what I
1:57.7	mean? God is bigger than the church. Sit with me. God is bigger than the
2:02.8	church. He is certainly bigger than the four walls of the church. So how do I reconcile? Well, so
2:07.4	like I've been through some shit. I've been through some like for real religious trauma.
2:11.3	Like I was in a cult. It's like real bad. So the way I survived that and still loved God
2:16.6	was I looked at all this shit. those church people did, and I put it on them.
