0:56.0 | Yes, I had quite an uneventful childhood, mom, dad, elder sister, twin brother. |
1:03.0 | I grew up in a town, a small town called Klamana, which sits in the southwest coast of Scotland. |
1:10.0 | My father was in middle management. My mother was a medical secretary. |
1:15.0 | An uneventful childhood, we were a normal family. |
1:19.0 | But unfortunately my parents split up when I was nine years old. |
1:24.0 | So that was the major disruption in my childhood, my childhood life. |
1:30.0 | But I think with that, I still held a good relationship with my father, who eventually married again. |
1:37.0 | As I grew up, I had lots of friends, got on well at school, got my hires. I was very much more towards the sciences when I was the literature and the arts. |
1:50.0 | And my first job was in an agricultural college as an assistant scientific officer, which was great fun, sunshine, summer months, gathering crops, protesting. |
2:03.0 | But then I decided that I wanted a career profession that would be more sustainable throughout my life. |
2:09.0 | So I studied podiatric medicine. |
2:12.0 | And I met my husband in 1979. We got married that year. |
2:17.0 | I was working for the National Health Service as a podiatrist. |
2:22.0 | My daughter was born in 1984. |
