In Chapter 26, Agrippa gives Paul permission to speak. As you read, hopefully Paul's testimony

has become familiar to you from his retelling of it in Acts and the letters we've studied

important men, prominent officials, and military commanders, Paul shares his testimony once again.

Paul was ready to share the reason for his great hope and purpose in life. He begins by sharing his origins as a young Jew in Jerusalem and his

time as a Pharisee. These Jewish men that accuse him watched him grow up among them, and yet they now

condemn him because of the hope he has in the Messiah God promised through their ancestors.

Paul continues by sharing his time as a persecutor of Christians. Paul was zealous to wipe them out and traveled to other cities

to find them. But one day, that all changed. Paul details his conversion experience on the Damascus Road, the place where he met

Jesus and was commissioned to be a light to the Gentiles. To that very day, when he stood in front of

Festus and Agrippa, Paul had remained faithful to speak the words that the prophets and Moses said would take place,

that the Messiah would suffer, and that, as the first to rise from the dead,

he would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles, which Paul says in Acts 26.23.
