So today on the Strong Women Podcast, we are excited and honored to have our guest, Valerie Elliott, Shepard.

You may recognize the last name Elliot because Valerie was born in Ecuador and was the only daughter to her missionary parents, Jim and Elizabeth Elliott.

Her parents were missionaries in Ecuador in the Amazon jungle to the Wauldani Indians.

And later on when Valerie was a little girl, her mom decided to move back to the United States for Valerie

to receive an American education. So she has lived in America now for a while, although she's

had her own missionary journeys as well. So we're going to get to hear about that. But Valerie

attended Wheaton College and got a bachelor's degree in English literature.

And she married her husband Walter Shepard.
