0:31.0	We return from our trip to Nineveh with Jonah, and today we study 2 Kings 15 and 2 Chronicles

0:40.5	These two chapters are going to teach us a few things today.
0:43.7	First, today's chapters set us up for the ministry of the prophets, Amos and Isaiah.
0:50.2	Second, we will see the contrast between the constant upheaval of Israel's kings versus
0:58.0	the sustained lineage of David and Judah.
1:02.8	And lastly, we will be reminded once again that no earthly king is perfect.
1:08.9	They were all sinners who displayed our need for the perfect King Jesus.
1:14.4	So let's get started and talk about how we see these themes in the events of these chapters.
1:20.9	Even though 2 Kings 15 is bookended by 2 Kings of Judah, we are going to focus on the
1:27.2	kings of Israel in the middle of the chapter.
1:30.9	Then we will talk about the kings of Judah as we come to 2 Chronicles 26.
1:35.5	Remember, the Chronicleer often provides us with more detail concerning the kings of
1:40.6	Judah as he specifically shares about David's lineage with the returning exiles.
