| 0:57.0 | We might be tempted to ask why this is even important and why are we spending a whole episode on this. |
| 1:03.0 | But when we read about the opulence and skill of these items and then think about them in light of Christ and eternity, |

| 1:14.0 | God's purpose for the plan of redemption has many layers and it is a gift for us to study each one. |
| 1:21.0 | So let's get started with 1 Kings 7 versus 1 through 12. |
| 1:26.0 | These first 12 verses detail Solomon's palace complex. |
| 1:30.0 | And complex is the best way to describe it because of its grand size. |
| 1:35.0 | While the temple took 7 years to build, we read that Solomon's palace took 13 years to build, almost double. |
| 1:44.0 | There was so much cedar used to build the palace that one portion of it was known as the house of the forest of Lebanon. |
| 1:51.0 | This great room, filled with many pillars, was used as an armory according to 1 Kings 10, when 500 gold shields were placed there. |
| 2:01.0 | In other words, this one room, similar in size to the temple complex, was simply used to house inanimate objects. |
| 2:10.0 | Connected to the room, was a hall of pillars and the hall of the throne where Solomon judged the nation. |
| 2:17.0 | He also built a house for himself, which includes a courtyard and a separate house for his wife, Pharaoh's daughter. |
