Hey friends! Welcome back to our year in the Bible journey from Eden to Eternity.

Tiffany here, and today we head back to First Chronicles.

We will be in and out of First and Second Chronicles many times over the next few months,

as these books help us better understand all that happens in the life of Israel during David's reign,

Solomon's reign, the split kingdom, and the return from exile.

As we talked about a few days ago, the author of Chronicles, also known as the Chronicleer,

wrote these books to encourage the returning exiles.

Each piece of information was meant to remind them that God is faithful.

As we read these genealogies and seemingly repetitive accounts of the same events,

it can be tempting to skim, zone out, or not read these chapters at all.

But, just as these chapters were meant to encourage the returning exiles,

they encourage believers today as well.

Repetition of God's faithfulness to His promises is what gives us hope in our own journey

as exiles awaiting Christ's return.

As we come to First Chronicles, chapters 7 through 10 today,
