with your host, Emma Daughter. Thanks for joining. Today, we're reading Exodus 29, which begs the question,

0:14.3

what does it mean for something to be consecrated? As a kid at Christmas time, whenever I would get

0:20.4

like fun little soaps or makeups in my stockings,

0:23.2

I would always set them apart as super, super special. I'd put them in a little pouch under my

0:28.9

bathroom sink and tell myself that I was saving these little presents for a special occasion.

0:34.1

Now, my eight-year-old self thought these cheap travel-sized soaps I got in my stocking

0:39.2

were really something special, so I'd set them aside. The thing was, I'd typically never use them.

0:46.7

1:27.1

And let's be honest, like the only example I could think of for this episode is an eight-year-old

1:31.4

with Christmas presents from Santa that were special.

1:34.9

I don't know if anything in our lives is as special as that which was consecrated, declared

1:41.2

sacred and set apart in biblical times. In fact, I don't know if we'd call anything in our lives

1:48.5

sacred. It's a hot take. And again, that's another word we don't normally use. But it's in the Bible

1:56.0

for a reason. And I'm certain God wants us to get something out of today's chapter, Exodus 29, to expand our minds and hearts and our understanding of his design for his people.

2:08.2

But before we jump into that question, the question of consecration, I want to set up the chapter for us.

2:14.4

And in today's divo, Luis reminds us that in this passage, God makes promises
