Thanks for joining and happy New Year. If you're listening to this episode on release day, we're kicking off our 2023 Bible reading plan from Genesis to Jesus, Old Testament stories that point to the Savior.

And if you're listening to this after January 2nd, 2023, no worries, we're glad you're here.

And in today's chapter, as I worked through the prompts in my Join the Journey Journal,

0:33.3

I made an interesting observation really for the first time ever.

0:37.4

Because on day two, God never

0:40.8

says it was good. When we think about Genesis 1, especially if we've been in church for a while,

0:46.7

we know the whole, it was good, it was good, it was good, and on and on until he gets to people.

1:20.7

why don't we ever see the word time used? When was time created? What's up with that? What's up with time? Before we dive in,

1:31.6

I want to take a minute to welcome you to join the journey. This is our second year of the

1:36.6

1:42.3

friend or a new one, I'm so glad we're all on this journey,

1:46.0

reading the Bible together. And regardless of how long you've been with us, I've got three

1:50.6

top announcements for you. Number one, this year we launched Join the Journey, Jr.

1:57.0

A weekly podcast for parents with kids ages 8 and under.

2:08.5

This podcast, it's really for the kids, but it'll also help parents facilitate a guided discussion centered around God's word at home.

2:13.3

Every Friday, we'll release an episode recapping a story we read that week.

2:15.9

Which brings me to announcement number two.
