Hello, and welcome to the eagle and child, the hallowed pub of the Inklings.

This is a podcast where each week, my friend Matt and I share a beer

and discuss the writings of the author known to the world as Clive Staples-Lewis,

or C.S. Lewis, or just as Jack to his friends.

My name is David, and today we're looking at the chapter of mere Christianity,

which discusses charity or love.

And as usual, I'm joined by Matt.

And to paraphrase St Paul,

Matt is patient, Matt is kind,

Matt does not envy, Matt does not boast,

Matt is not proud.

I'm kind of enjoying that.

I was actually once told to use that as a means of preparing for confession,

particularly if you feel like, I haven't done anything wrong.

Take 1 Corinthians 13, and rather than love put in your name and see how far you get.

That's a great idea.
