Welcome back, MacroData Refiners. This is Severed, the Ultimate Severance Podcast. I'm your host, Alan S. So glad to see you decided to join me

for a postseason wrap-up. This time, instead of firing up the workstations, let's all sit in a

comforting circle of chairs. I've got things to discuss that didn't fit in the podcast episodes,

a few items I felt like I should have talked about more, a couple of things

to correct, and of course, I'm going to ask a lot of big questions I don't have any answers for.

If you're ready, refiners, let's get out the red rubber ball and pass it around as we discuss

our season wrap up.

My first thought after the big cliffhanger was, how do they get out of this?

And by they, I'm talking about the writing and creative team. This is quite a situation they

have to deal with. The whole idea of inies breaking into the outy world has serious implications.

I see two broad story paths they might employ to kickoff season

two. Either continue the narrative or a time jump. The first option continuing the narrative would

continue with the ongoing timeline kind of storytelling we've seen so far. The first nine episodes

happened in a continuous arc over three

weeks. For most of our episodes, we were picking up right where the previous chapter left off.

Pee's staying at Marks, Helly in the break room, Heli's suicide, Mark and Greiner going to Gans

College, throwing the OTC switches, all of those story points were carried

through the end of one episode right into the start of the next episode. The only time the story

wasn't continuous from one episode to the next was during the flashback at the start of the second

episode. It's the one where we went back to see Heli get severed

and start her day on the severed floor from her outy perspective. This episode actually backed
