Summary

Bob is joined by Dr. Nicky Jackson. After three weeks of delivering a series of mind blowing post-conviction discoveries in the case, Dr. Jackson is here to help us absorb it all and breakdown what it means. Unfortunately we also have some very sad news to share at the end of the episode.

The majority of the funding of our work comes directly from listeners, through our Patreon community.  To join Patreon, click THIS LINK.  At the $5/month level you'll get access to lots of Patreon Only BONUS EPISODES, Ad Free versions of all episodes, an hour of Patreon Exclusive video content every week, and our new weekly podcast “Pre-Game”, which drops every Wednesday.  Not to mention early access to some episodes and the ability to watch and participate in interviews live.

From NBII Studios, this is Truth and Justice, a crowdsourced investigation in real time. I'm Bob Ruff. Hello, everybody, and welcome back to truth and justice.

Today's episode, we're kind of taking a breath and catching up a little bit, and we have some news to share with you guys as well.

0:48.4

But as we've gone through a ton of information in the last three weeks, as far as the investigation that was done into Chris's case in the

0:57.3

post-conviction years after he was incarcerated. We went through all the different forensic

1:02.3

evidence, all the affidavits about shaky, and then in this last week we covered the Gerald

1:07.7

Matthews or Chris Stokes' confessions. I want to take a, to take a pause for a minute,

1:12.4

and I've invited Dr. Nikki Jackson to come back on the show, as you guys read from her before,

1:17.6

a couple of times. Nikki is the one who originally brought the case to us, and she's been listening

1:23.2

along with the podcast, and I wanted her to come on and just kind of talk about what we've covered so far in any notes she has. Nikki and her team have been working on this case for five years now. So we're just want to try to, before I move any further, I want to make sure that we don't have any loose ends or holes left in the case that we haven't covered quite yet. First of all, Dr. Jackson, thanks for joining me. It's good to have you back.

1:45.2

Thanks for having me.

2:04.1

I guess the first thing I want to do, we don't really have a real plan here other than, I know you said you gathered up some notes of things that you thought that we should address before we move any further. So I guess what I'm going to do is I'm just going to kind of turn things over to you and we'll just have discussions about these. If you want to go through the different elements that we've covered so far, or maybe that we haven't covered, that you want to make sure that we get on the record before we move on beyond this point. Okay. Well,

2:09.1

thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. First and foremost, thank you again for taking

2:13.7

this case on, because I know this is a really challenging case. There's a lot of

2:18.0

information. It's a lot to unpack. I still have to go back and review notes because there's

2:24.1

thousands and thousands of pages. So to do this even in a year since you've started, it's

2:29.1

been pretty impressive of what you've been able to do. So thank you so much for even taking this on. And I know,

2:36.2

you know, we all appreciate you very much. I also know you're also limited with some of the things that

2:41.3

you have access to because, you know, we're not sharing everything with you. So you, because, you know,

2:47.3

we're obviously working on legal things, so we can only share certain things

2:51.0

with you. So I understand that when you're asked questions, you might not know the answers,

2:56.4

but there's reasons for that. You don't have access to everything at this point. So I'm going to

3:01.9

try to help fill in some of the gaps if I can, all right? Perfect. All right. First of all, I want
