Hello everybody and welcome back to Truth and Justice.

For this week's episode, I've brought in a special guest.

It's someone, for those of you who have been listening before season 17, have heard from before.

We talked to her last winter.

I'm here on the stream today with Dr. Nikki Jackson, who's a professor of criminal justice at Purdue Northwest.

She's also the executive director for the Center for Justice and Exoneration Network.

And the reason I have Dr. Jackson on today is she is the primary reason why we are covering Chris Bynum's case right now in season 17. And as you guys know,

over the last, where are we at now, nine weeks of this season, we've really focused on the

victims and on the crime scene. And we're trying to get a better understanding of what

happened at these two different crime scenes. And I think we've reached the point where we're ready to move into how Chris Bynum got

connected to all of this.

So I thought before we dig into the case file on this part of it, this is the perfect time

to bring Dr. Jackson on and have her talk to us a little bit.

First about what got her involved in the case and the work that

her in, for those you guys remember, Timmy that works with her at her center, have the work they've

done on the case, and then why they brought it to us here at Truth and Justice. And then we're

going to get into a little bit, and I'm going to ask Dr. Jackson to bridge the gap for us from

the chaos of that night to Chris Bynum sitting in the interrogation room. So first things first, Dr. Jackson, I know you're just like me. This is the beginning of a new school year and things are crazy right now. So I appreciate you taking some time to come on and talk to me. Bob, thanks for having me. And thank you so much for taking on this case.

It's a very important case to me and I'm hoping that we can, you know, find the right answers by the time that we are done with this season. Yeah, I hope so too. And first thing I want to do is just real quick, like I said, during season 16, we had you and Timmy on to talk a little bit about what you guys do. but if you could just real briefly kind of recap, like, what do you do at the Center for Justice and Exoneration Network?

Well, there's really four things that we do.
