I've got some news for you.

It's Eric Erickson here across the nation.

I yesterday was using my Weber slate griddle, making steak tips for my wife.

And my phone rang, and it was a friend from Washington.

So someone, I will just say they are very much in the Trump orbit,

very close to people within the administration, called to

let me know that the rescission package is coming from the White House. As I mentioned to you

yesterday, the Doge cuts cannot go through the reconciliation package.

It's a convoluted process, but essentially, the reconciliation process deals with mandatory spending, and the rescission process deals with discretionary spending.

The mandatory spending is interest on the debt and entitlement, Social Security,

Medicare, and Medicaid, and the appropriations buckets. The appropriations buckets are you got to

spend money on defense, you got to spend money on transportation, you got to spend money on

education, you got to spend money on transportation, you got to spend money on education, you got to spend money on agriculture.
