1:06.3	On Friday, the legislators tweaked a law that currently requires candidates in the state seeking
1:12.4	higher office to give up their elected post once they qualify for the ballot. DeSantis has not
1:18.8	yet officially announced that he's running for the Republican nomination, but is widely expected
1:23.6	to jump into the race in the coming weeks after Florida lawmakers conclude their
1:27.5	legislative session. Well, you know, the DeSantis team has maintained all along that that law
1:33.3	was unnecessary for his run. The state Senate agreed changing the law was unnecessary. But of course,
1:40.0	lawyers on both sides could disagree. Now they can't. He is expected to announce his run this month.
1:46.0	Tim Scott will be announcing May 22nd, DeSantis sometime probably around the same time.
