I'm Bob Brum.

This case is complex.

And the complexities go much further than just the victimologies, suspects, and timelines.

The crime scene itself is full of mysteries, contradictions, and layers that boggle

the mind.

In most cases, we have a single CSI report that breaks down all of the evidence in one

nice, neat little package.

But the opinion pines triple homicide isn't like other cases.

The crime scene investigation was conducted by multiple people from multiple agencies.

In the Fire Department's initial arrival and scene and their observations, we have detectives

documenting the outside of the house, the arson investigator working on the house itself,

coroners and detectives sifting through rubble, and other officers looking through cars.

What I'm going to try to do today is to bring some of those elements together to hopefully

paint a clearer picture of what happened on September 17th, 2006 on Alpine Drive.

I'll be breaking down the observations of the initial Fire Department responders, the

crime scene investigators findings from outside the house and the cars.

I'll be saving the arson investigation for another day.
