I'm Bob Brum.

These last two weeks have not gone according to plan.

I know that I've stated this already, but I want to reiterate that my intention going

back a few weeks ago was to start looking through the case against Robert and Christian.

Unfortunately, a trip to West Memphis and coming home with COVID and no voice changed

our plans.

We've seen a couple social media posts where people are getting a little bit frustrated

with the scattered directions that the podcast has been going into.

As I've said, this wasn't planned, but I'll also say that I hear you and I'm going

to try to help you get a better understanding of where we're at today.

The problem with this case is that our usual approach is to follow along with the original

investigation in real time, but this case was very complex because of the confusing crime

scene, the three victims and the two defendants.

The original investigators took 10 years to make a final arrest and another two years after

that to take Robert and Christian to trial.

What I'm saying is that the reason it may seem like we're spinning our wheels is because

the original investigators were doing just that.

This was a 10 year cold case.

I'm going to open up today's episode with what one listener calls the 30,000-foot view,

the overall big picture of what happened in the case.
