Yesterday you were talking about the Republicans probably retaking the House of Representatives.

And the assumption was that Kevin McCarthy would become the, Republicans probably retaking the House of Representatives.

And the assumption was that Kevin McCarthy would become the Speaker of the House.

My wife and I both have never thought that he was very good.

Your statement was you thought he was an empty suit.

Why would it have to be Kevin McCarthy?

Why couldn't we find somebody like a Jim Jordan who actually would be a good speaker over the house?

That would be my, Jim is actually my preference.

So the reason is because Jim Jordan alienates himself from the moderate Republicans,

so he can't get a majority.

In the moderate Republicans, they can't get a majority. Kevin McCarthy is the only one principal-less enough to unite to the moderates and the

conservatives.

I'm afraid.

Typically the way it works is when you're the leader of the party in the House, you're the one

who's gotten those votes and so they'll put you in as speaker when you take the majority.
