I hesitate when I talk about stuff in this way because some people think I'm suggesting

I think I'm better than other people and I don't.

If anything, it probably makes me worse.

My wife is on our way home today from her scans.

She has stage four lung cancer.

She takes a chemotherapy pill every day that keeps the tumors from growing.

It's genetic.

There's no cure.

There's nothing we can do other than she takes this pill and maybe in taking this pill,

which only works for two years, but she's been on it for five and a half and it's still working,

maybe buying her time to get to the next pill.

For a while there mentally, we were wondering, will she make it until our daughter graduates from high school in 2024?

And now we wait and wonder if she can make it to our son graduating from high school.

He's only in eighth grade.

It's the sword of Damocles.

You know the story, the

sword hung over, the throne hung by a horsehair, and you wait to see if it'll fall. And it hasn't

fallen yet, but it hangs. In 2016, many of my listeners, I think, are familiar with the story. I

was having some struggles, breathing, thought it was allergies, but it kept getting worse.

I was rushed into a cardiac ICU unit.

My lungs had a whole lot of blood clots in them.
